Persian Gulf War:

Nathan J. Brown

The Persian Gulf war began in August 1990. During this time Iraq invaded Kuwait. The war increased in January and February 1991, with Iraq and an international group of forces from the United States. At the end of this war the groups had driven the Iraqis to Kuwait. The war started when Britain gave Kuwait independence, and Iraq brought up an old claim that Kuwait was under the Ottoman province in Southern Iraq. Therefore, Iraq thought that it was right that they take over Kuwait. Then, the United states helped out Kuwait. Also, Iraq claimed that Kuwait was drilling into their land and taking their oil. After this, that’s when the war began.
